On behalf of the NZPMC team, we are excited to announce the new nationwide competition that we will be hosting, starting from this year (2023): the New Zealand Physics Olympiad (NZPhO)!
Since 1999, New Zealand has not participated in the International Physics Olympiad. Through the New Zealand Physics Olympiad, 2023, we aim to reignite New Zealand school students’ interest in this world-renowned science competition. The NZPhO will provide an excellent opportunity for mathematics and physics enthusiasts to tackle questions of olympiad-standard difficulty in a nationwide contest.
** Note also that we are at an experimental stage, and there may be modifications to the planned structure of NZPhO
The NZPhO is a specialised competition that will take place in three rounds, and the best performing students will be selected after each round to progress to the next. Closer to each round, we will send out any corresponding details regarding the competition guidelines.
